You can find us at number 59 along State Highway 71 in Santhapalayam. Being right on the highway makes it easy for the students to get here from different parts of Trichy. It is an ITI, so you will see a lot of practical work going on every day. There is usually the sound of machines or tools being used in the workshops. We have different sections for various trades, and the students spend most of their time working with their hands. The building is pretty simple, just a practical space for learning how to fix things and understand mechanics. It gets quite warm in the afternoons, so the ceiling fans stay on all day long. We have some open space around the building where people park their bikes. The staff here are mostly guys who have worked in shops or factories before, so they know the real way of doing things. It is not like a big university campus; it is much more down-to-earth and functional. We have our routines, starting early and finishing up as the sun starts to set over the highway. The traffic outside never really stops, so there is always a background hum of engines while we work. We keep the equipment as clean as we can, but it is a workshop, so a bit of grease and dust is just part of the daily life here. It is just a regular place for regular work.
