Swaraj Tiles

You can find our tile shop near the Boat Jetty in Trissur. It’s a busy part of town with a lot of people moving back and forth. We have been here for quite some time, and our shop is filled with all sorts of tiles for floors and walls. We spend a lot of our time moving the heavy display boards around so customers can see how the tiles look in different light. It’s a bit of a workout, but it keeps us busy. The shop isn't anything fancy; it’s just a practical space to show what we have in stock. We get a lot of dust from the street, so we are constantly cleaning the samples to keep them looking okay. People often come in with their families to pick out tiles for a new house, and they can stay for an hour or more just debating between two shades of grey or beige. We just let them take their time and provide the prices when they ask. We keep our records in a big ledger and try to stay on top of the deliveries coming in from the factories. Sometimes the boxes arrive with a few broken pieces, and we have to sort through them. It’s just part of the job. We enjoy being in this part of Trissur and seeing the familiar faces of the local contractors.
