Oasexports & Imports

We are located at No. 151 South Cotton Road in Tuticorin. It is a busy street and there is always something going on right outside our door. Most of our days are spent checking manifests and talking to drivers on the phone. Being so close to the port means we see a lot of activity every single day. We handle exports and imports, which sounds much simpler than it actually is. There is a lot of paperwork that piles up on the desks by noon. Our office isn't anything special to look at, just some chairs, a few old computers, and a lot of filing cabinets. We have been here for a good while and the neighbors all know us. Sometimes the humidity in Tuticorin makes the work feel a bit slower, but we keep at it. We get goods ready for shipping and then wait for the containers to be moved to the docks. It is a lot of back and forth with the harbor officials. Sometimes things get delayed at the gate and we just have to wait it out. We don’t have a big team, just a few of us who know how the system works. We drink a lot of tea while we wait for the trucks to arrive. People stop by to ask about rates or just to say hello. We don’t do much advertising; most people find us because we’ve been on South Cotton Road for so long. It is just a straightforward business of moving things.
