Swapnatheeram Beach Resort

We are tucked away in Avaduthura, which is near the Vizhinjam area. The house is called Nisha Nivas and it’s where we run the resort. It’s a very local spot, not like the big tourist beaches further up the coast. You can see the fishing boats coming in if you walk down to the water. We spend our days sweeping the porch and making sure the guests have enough towels. The air always smells a bit like salt and fried fish from the nearby stalls. We have a few rooms that are basic but have everything you need to sleep well. We don't have a big marketing team or anything, we just wait for people to find us. Sometimes we have to deal with the plumbing acting up because the pipes are old. We do our best to fix things quickly. The garden has some palm trees that give good shade in the afternoon when it’s too hot to be on the sand. We usually sit out there in the evenings with a cup of tea. It’s a quiet life for the most part, except when there is a festival at the local temple. We’ve lived here a long time and know all the paths through the village. It’s just a simple place for people who don't want anything fancy or loud. We just keep things running one day at a time.
