Kovalam Beach Retreat

We spend our days here at Kovalam Beach Retreat, which is tucked away in the 695122 area of Trivandrum. Being this close to the Kerala coast means there is always a bit of salt in the air and a lot of humidity. It is a pretty basic setup we have going on here. We do not go for anything too flashy or loud. Most of the time, we are just managing the daily tasks that come with running a place like this. People arrive looking for the beach and we show them where things are. The post office is nearby and that is our main point for mail. The building isn't new but it holds up well against the coastal weather. We spend a lot of time cleaning up sand that gets tracked in from the outside. It is just part of the life here in Trivandrum. We have a small staff and we all know each other well. Sometimes the rain comes down really hard and we all just wait it out under the roof. It is a quiet kind of life most weeks. We don't spend money on big ads or fancy signs. We just keep the rooms ready and wait for the next person to pull up. It is honest work and we like being near the water. That is pretty much the story of us at the retreat in Kovalam.
