Government Girls Higher Secondary School

This is the Government Girls Higher Secondary School on the Trivandrum Vizhinjam Road in Manacaud. It’s a large, old building that has seen many years of students pass through. The walls are thick and the ceilings are high, which helps keep it cool during the hot months. Being on the main road means there’s a constant hum of buses and cars passing by at all hours. We have a big gate that stays open during the day and a watchman who sits nearby to keep an eye on things. Inside, the hallways are long and can get a bit dark in some corners. The classrooms are filled with wooden benches that have been used by many girls before. We have a large assembly area where everyone gathers in the morning. It’s quite a sight to see all the uniforms in one place. The staffroom is always full of teachers correcting papers or having a quick tea during the break. We don't have much in the way of fancy gadgets. It’s mostly books, pens, and paper. Manacaud is a busy place, and our school is right in the thick of it. We just follow the schedule and make sure the lessons get done as they should. It’s a big part of the local history for the girls here. We don't make a big fuss about things, we just keep the doors open and the classes running every single day for the families who rely on us.
