Bethlahem School

Bethlahem School is down in Cheruvakkal in Thiruvananthapuram. It is a quiet enough area compared to the main city center, but we still have our fair share of activity. The school sits in a spot where you can see a lot of greenery around, which is quite nice during the hotter months in Kerala. We have the usual classrooms and a bit of space outside where the kids can run around during their breaks. The building has been here for some time and it shows its age in a few places, but we keep it functional. Every morning the students arrive in their uniforms and we start the day with the usual assembly. We do not have a big budget for fancy things, so we make do with what we have. The desks are wooden and have seen many students over the years. We spend a lot of time talking to the parents from the local neighborhood who want their children to do well. It is a very local atmosphere here, everyone knows everyone else’s family. Sometimes the rain is so heavy that we have to wait a bit before letting the children go home. It is just a community school where the staff works hard and the kids learn their lessons. We are just a group of people trying to run a decent school in this part of Thiruvananthapuram.
