College Of Dairy Science & Technology

Our college is located on the second floor of the Keltron Equipment Complex in Karakulam. We are part of the Kerala Veterinary University. It’s a bit of an unusual spot for a dairy school, being inside an equipment complex, but it works for what we need to do. We spend a lot of time talking about milk, cattle, and how the technology side of things fits into the dairy industry. Thiruvananthapuram is a busy city, but out here in Karakulam, it feels a bit more separated from the main noise of the town. We have labs and classrooms where the students spend most of their hours studying and doing practical work. It’s not a huge campus with rolling hills and trees, just the specific floors we occupy in this building. The staff here are mostly focused on the technical details of dairy production and science. We have books and various equipment that we use for the practical parts of the course. Students come from all over the state to study here. It’s a bit of a climb up the stairs every morning to get to the second floor, but we are all used to it by now. The hallways can get a bit cramped when classes change, but we make do with the space. We aren't trying to be a fancy university with big statues. We just have our specific work to do in the dairy field. It is a quiet place where people mostly keep to their books and their research.
