Government Ayurveda College

This college is one of the main spots for Ayurveda in Trivandrum. It is a large government institution, so there is always a lot going on across the campus. We have students coming from all over to learn about traditional medicine, and you can see them walking around in their white coats most of the day. Then there is the hospital side of things. It stays very busy with people coming in from the city and the surrounding villages for checkups and medicine. The buildings are quite old and have that heavy, historic feel to them. You can smell the herbs and the boiling oils from quite a distance away. It’s not a quiet place by any means. There are always people waiting in the corridors or staff moving equipment around. We have a lot of different departments, and it can be a bit confusing to find your way around if you aren't used to it. The garden where we grow some of the plants is a bit more peaceful, though. We’ve been a part of the Trivandrum landscape for a long time, and almost everyone in town knows where we are. It’s a place of learning but also a place where a lot of people come for help with their health every single day. It’s a bit of a maze, but it’s a place that keeps the old traditions going.
