Oxford Nursery And Primary School

We’ve been here at 2/1887 Mantharadi Street for a good while now. It’s right in the Karanthai area of Thanjavur. It started out small because we just wanted a place for the local kids to go that wasn't too far from home. Most of us living around here know how busy the streets get, so having the nursery and primary school tucked away on this street helps. The building isn't fancy or anything. It's just a regular place where children come every morning with their bags and water bottles. You’ll hear them shouting and playing during the breaks. Sometimes it gets a bit noisy, but that’s just how it is with kids around. We don't have a big team or a lot of complicated rules. It’s mostly just making sure the children learn their basics and stay safe until their parents pick them up in the afternoon. People in Thanjavur know this spot well enough. We see the same faces every day, and the kids grow up fast. One year they’re starting in the nursery, and before you know it, they are finishing up primary. It’s a lot of work keeping everything running, from the desks to the books, but we manage. There’s always something that needs fixing or a classroom that needs a bit of paint, but we get to it when we can. It’s just a normal part of life here in Karanthai.
