You can find us at No 767 on Attumandhai Vaikolkara Street in Thanjavur. The street is quite narrow and always busy with people going about their business. It’s a very local neighborhood, so we are right in the middle of everything. Our school handles the younger kids, from nursery up to primary age. The building isn't very big, but we make the most of the space we have. There are always bicycles parked out front and parents chatting at the gate. Inside, it’s a bit cramped sometimes, but the kids don’t seem to mind. We have some simple posters on the walls and old wooden desks. The teachers here are mostly women from the surrounding area who know the families well. Thanjavur is a place with a lot of history, and you can feel that in the older parts of town where we are. We don’t have fancy technology or air conditioning. We just use the windows and the ceiling fans. Lunchtime is a big deal here, with all the kids opening their tiffin boxes and the smell of home-cooked food filling the halls. It’s a noisy, lively place for most of the day. We don't try to act like we are something we're not. We are just a small school in a busy street, trying to teach the basics and keep the kids safe while their parents are at work. It’s honest work and we’ve been doing it this way for years.
