Our place is located at Plot No. A-391 on Road No. 28 in the Wagle Industrial Area. It is a busy part of town and there is always something going on with the neighboring factories. We work with quartz here. If you walk into our unit, the first thing you will notice is the sound of the saws cutting through the stone. There is a lot of water and dust involved in the process, so we are always wearing boots and aprons. We spend our days moving heavy slabs around and checking the polish on the surfaces. It is hard on the back, but we are used to it by now. The office is just a tiny room where we keep the computer and some samples for people to look at. It’s not very organized, with pens and rulers lying all over the place. We don't spend much time in there anyway. We would rather be out where the work is happening. Sometimes the machines break down and we have to spend half the morning fixing them, which is frustrating but that is just how it goes. We aren't a big corporate outfit. We are just a group of people who know how to handle stone. We eat our lunch on the benches outside when the sun isn't too hot. It is a practical, no-nonsense kind of place. We just try to get the orders right. That is what keeps us busy through the week.
