Stone Shippers

We’ve been set up here at Stone Shippers for a good while now. Our place is right on Shil-Mahape Road, not too far from the old Octroi Post at Shilphata. If you’ve driven past, you’ve probably seen the yard. It gets dusty, and there is always something moving. We deal with various types of stone. People come by asking for help with projects or just to see what we have sitting in the lot. It isn't a fancy office. Most days, we are out there checking the inventory or talking to drivers. The traffic around the Shilphata junction can be a real headache, especially in the mornings when everyone is trying to get through. We just get on with it though. My father started things off, and we just kept going. We have some heavy equipment that needs constant looking after because the stone is rough on everything. Sometimes the weather makes things difficult, like when it rains hard and the ground gets muddy, but that's just part of the job. We don’t have a big team, just a few of us who know the materials. We try to keep things simple. If someone needs stone moved or delivered, we figure out a way to get it done. It’s hard work, but it keeps us busy. Most of our neighbors around here are in similar trades. We know the roads well and how to get things where they need to go. That’s pretty much us.
