Sanj Pharma Engineers is based at R-841 in the M.I.D.C area of Rabale. Since it’s M.I.D.C, there are factories everywhere you look. We deal with equipment for the pharma side of things, so it’s a bit cleaner here than in a regular forge, but it’s still a workshop at the end of the day. There are always stainless steel pipes and tanks sitting around the floor. We spend a lot of time welding and polishing to make sure there are no rough spots. It’s meticulous work, and my eyes usually hurt by the end of the shift. We have a small office upstairs where the phone rings occasionally, but most of the action is downstairs. It can get pretty humid in Rabale, especially during the monsoon. We try to keep the rust off the tools, but it’s a constant battle. We aren't a massive corporation with thousands of employees. It's just a handful of us who know how to put these machines together. We don't have a fancy canteen; we just eat our tiffins at the workbenches. Most of our days are spent checking measurements and making sure the fittings are tight. It’s not the kind of work you can rush through. We just take it one piece at a time and try to keep things moving along. Usually, we finish up around six and head home to get some rest for the next day.
