We are located in Kandivli East, over in Mumbai, specifically at Jai Hind Chawl in Gokul Nagar. If you know the Sai Baba Mandir on Akurli Road, we are right near there. It is a busy part of the city, like most of Mumbai is. You have the temple crowds and the local markets all around us. Our setup is pretty basic. We are in a chawl, which means space is tight and it can get quite hot when the afternoon sun hits the roof. But it works for us. We have been here at Pepsico India for a while, dealing with the local distribution and paperwork. There is always someone coming in to ask a question or drop off a delivery note. We do not have air conditioning that works all the time, so we keep the windows open and listen to the traffic outside. It is a real place with real people. My desk is a bit wobbly, and we use old folders to keep our records, but nothing gets lost. We are not those corporate types in suits. Most of us wear regular shirts and sandals because it is practical for the weather and the work. We take our tea breaks together when things quiet down. It is a simple life, but we are part of this neighborhood and that matters to us more than having a big fancy office in a skyscraper somewhere else.
