Laxmi Narayan Tea & Snacks

Our little shop is number 8 at Tukaram Chowk in Sonar Pada. We are tucked away in Dombivli East, right behind the Srijit Company building. It’s a busy corner of the neighborhood with a lot of people walking by on their way to work or coming home from the station. We start very early in the morning, usually before the sun is even up, to get the tea brewing and the snacks ready. There is always a lot of steam in the air from the big pots. We don’t have a lot of space for people to sit, so most customers just stand around the counter or lean against the wall outside. It can get pretty noisy with the traffic and people talking all at once. We use a lot of ginger and sugar in our tea because that’s how people around here like it. The snacks are made fresh every morning, and once they are gone, they are gone for the day. We don’t use any fancy equipment, just the same stoves we’ve had for a long time. It’s hard work and the kitchen gets very hot, but we enjoy seeing the regulars every day. Some people have been coming here for years and we know exactly how they like their tea. We just keep our heads down and focus on serving whoever is standing at the window until it is finally time to close up.
