Royal Ceramics

We've been at Jai Laxmi Chs on Kalyan Road for a while now. Most people around here know the shop as the place to get tiles and things for the house. It’s a busy road and we try to keep the shop organized, but sometimes the boxes pile up when a new shipment comes in from the trucks. We handle a lot of different ceramic pieces. Some folks come in looking for a specific color to match their old bathroom wall and we spend time digging through the back to see if we still have a box left. It’s just how it goes. My cousin helps out most afternoons when it gets crowded. We don’t have a fancy showroom with lights and all that. It’s just the stacks of samples and us sitting behind the desk. Sometimes the dust from the road gets inside, so we spend a lot of time wiping down the displays. People walk in from the neighborhood, usually after work, to talk about their renovations. We listen to what they need and show them what’s in stock. If we don’t have it right there, we check the list. It’s a straightforward business. We keep the doors open late on Saturdays because that’s when most people have the time to drive over. It can get a bit loud with the traffic outside, but we’re used to it. We just focus on getting the right boxes to the right people without making it more complicated than it needs to be.
