Amit Drink Cold

You can find us in Badlapur East, right near the Matoshree Hotel. Being near a hotel helps because people are always walking back and forth. At Amit Drink Cold, we keep the refrigerators running all the time. In the summer, it gets really hot here in Vivekanad Nagar, so everyone wants something cold to drink. We have all kinds of sodas and juices stacked up. Sometimes the delivery guys bring the wrong crates, and we have to spend an hour sorting them out in the heat. The shop is small and has a lot of racks. We keep the crates on the floor mostly. It’s a bit of a squeeze when more than two people are inside. We don't have any air conditioning for ourselves, just for the bottles. You’ll usually see one of us sitting on a stool near the door, waiting for the next customer. The traffic on the road can be quite loud with the rickshaws honking constantly. We know the other shopkeepers around here, so we often share tea in the evening. It’s a straightforward life. We sell the drinks, keep the change ready, and make sure the empties are put back in the right boxes. There’s nothing much to it, but it keeps us busy from morning until late at night. Sometimes the fridge motor makes a loud rattling noise, but it still keeps everything cold enough for the customers.
