In the Porur area of Chennai, we have our office on Raja Rajan Nagar 2nd Street, at number 18-A. It’s a local neighborhood, not a big industrial zone, so it feels quite grounded and quiet. We handle the tech side for Sify from this location. Inside, you’ll find a lot of cables, servers, and people staring at screens for hours. It’s not a fancy place with a lobby or a security desk at the front. You just walk in and we are there working at our stations. The street outside is usually peaceful, except for the occasional delivery bike or someone selling vegetables from a cart. We like it that way. Chennai heat can be pretty bad most of the year, so we keep the place as cool as we can with the fans and air. Our daily routine is mostly about checking the systems and making sure the networks are running like they should be. If something breaks, we just get to work and fix it. There is no corporate jargon used here; we just talk about what needs to be done. We’ve been at this address for a while and have become part of the local scenery. We often go to the small shop around the corner for a quick snack or a drink in the afternoon. It’s a very simple, honest way to run a tech office. We just keep the data flowing for our part of the city.
