My office is actually just my apartment, F3, in the Annalakshmana Flats on 5th Main Road. Pammal is a bit of a distance from the main Chennai city center, but I like it here because it feels a bit more like a community. The flats are Door No.6, and we are on the third floor, so there are a lot of stairs to climb every day. My workspace is set up in the corner of the living room, near the balcony. I get a good breeze from the trees outside, which helps with the Chennai humidity. I don’t have any employees or a big corporate structure to worry about. It’s just me handling the clients and the paperwork. The 5th Main Road in Annanagar is usually pretty quiet, except for the occasional delivery bike zooming past. I’ve lived here for a few years now, and the neighbors all know that I’m usually busy at my computer during the day. I have a lot of books and files stacked up on the floor because I ran out of shelf space months ago. It’s a bit messy, but I know exactly where everything is. The pin code is Pammal-75, and most of my mail gets delivered to the little box downstairs. It’s a simple, straightforward life here, and I prefer it that way over some fancy office park. The light switch for the balcony is a bit temperamental and requires a firm push.
