Rekha Engineering Works

Rekha Engineering Works is based out in Wadhwan, right in the GIDC area at Plot No. 267/3. Being in an industrial estate means it is always loud and dusty. There is always the sound of metal hitting metal or machines running somewhere nearby. Our workshop is not very large, but we make use of every inch of space we have. We have our tools and machines set up in a way that makes sense to us, even if it looks a bit cluttered to someone else walking in. The floor is usually covered in some metal shavings and oil, which is just how an engineering shop is supposed to look. During the summers, it gets incredibly hot inside the shed, so we take plenty of breaks for water. We have got a small desk in the corner where we handle the paperwork and take calls from clients. It is mostly just us working away, trying to finish the parts we have been tasked with. There is no big sign or fancy lobby here. You just walk through the gate and you are right in the middle of it. We have been at this plot for years and we know the rhythms of the industrial estate. When the shift ends, we lock up the gates and head home, just like everyone else on this street. It is hard work, but it is what we know how to do. We do not try to be anything we are not, just a bunch of people in Wadhwan working hard.
