Umiya Engineering Works

Umiya Engineering Works is located at Plot No. 1829 in the G.I.D.C. Estate. If you’ve ever been to a G.I.D.C. area, you know what it’s like—lots of industrial buildings, trucks, and the sound of machines everywhere. Our plot is just one of many, but we’ve made it our own over the years. We do engineering work, which mostly means we are around lathes, drills, and heavy metal parts all day. It’s a loud place to work, and we usually have to shout a bit to be heard over the machines. The floor is concrete and usually has some metal shavings or oil on it. We aren't trying to win any beauty contests with our workshop. It’s built for function. We have a small area where we keep the drawings and do the paperwork, but most of the action happens on the shop floor. The heat can get pretty intense in the middle of the day, especially with the machines running. We’ve been part of the G.I.D.C. community for a long time. We know the other shop owners around us. It’s a place where people work hard and get their hands dirty. We don't have a fancy website or a big marketing plan. Most of our work comes from people who know we’ve been at Plot 1829 for a long time and trust us to do the job. It's a bit of a maze of iron and steel in here most days. We just keep our heads down and get the metal cut as per the orders.
