Our place, Kalpar Engineers Pvt. Ltd., takes up quite a bit of space from Plot No. 1809 to 1812. Being in GIDC Phase IV means there’s always a lot of traffic around here. We have several units connected, so it feels bigger once you’re inside. It’s mostly just us working on various engineering parts and checking the specs. There’s a lot of walking back and forth between the plots during the day. We don’t really do much advertising or anything like that. Most people who need us just know where to find the big sign. The machines run for most of the shift and the noise is just part of the background now. We have a small office area, but most of us prefer being out where the actual work happens. It gets pretty loud when everything is running at once. We try to keep things organized, but in a place this big, stuff tends to get moved around. Sometimes we have to hunt for a specific tool for a few minutes. It’s not a perfect system, but it works for us. The afternoon sun hits the front of the building pretty hard, so we usually keep the shutters halfway down to stay cool. We’ve been here a good number of years and we know the area well. It’s just a steady life here at the GIDC.
