Whitestone Diamonds Private Limited is located in the Haripura area of Surat. We are in the Blue Diamond Office building, specifically at units 5/1158 to 63 in Hath Faliya. This part of Surat has a lot of history with the diamond trade going back generations. The lanes are very narrow and it can get quite crowded with people and scooters, but that’s just the natural character of the place. Our office is a functional space where we spend the day sorting and looking at diamonds. We have the special lamps and magnifying glasses set up on the wooden tables. It’s a very focused and quiet environment once you are inside. We aren't trying to impress anyone with a lobby or expensive furniture. We just need a good, clean place to work with the stones. The building itself has been there for a long time and shows its age. We know most of the other people working in the same street and we say hello every morning. Sometimes the parking is a total nightmare, so we usually walk from the main road or take a rickshaw if we can. The work involves a huge amount of patience and looking at tiny details for hours on end. We take our tea breaks together in the afternoon and talk about the day. It’s a very local, traditional way of doing business in Surat. We’ve been in this office for a good while and it really feels like home to us now.
