Vrinda Sarees

We are situated in the Surat Textile Market at shop number R-3104. Everyone in the trade knows that Ring Road is the center of everything here. The building itself is massive and it is very easy to get lost because there are so many different wings. We are in the R wing of the market. It takes a fair amount of walking to get up to our floor every morning. Inside our shop, it is just walls of sarees in every color and pattern you can imagine. We spend most of our time opening up the folds to show the fabrics to people and then carefully folding them back up again. It feels like a never-ending job. The market is very noisy, especially in the afternoon hours when most of the deals are being made. We have a small crew of people working here, and we have all been together for a long time now. We usually eat our lunch together right inside the shop while we talk about the day. This is not a fancy boutique with mannequins in the window. It is a practical place where we move a lot of stock every day. We see people coming from all over the country to buy things in these hallways. Some days are quiet and we just sit and have tea, but usually we are on our feet. The market is a busy place to be.
