Navarang Less

Navarang Less can be found at K 7 in the Mangaldip Appartment building. We are situated right opposite the Shak Market in the Palanpur area. Having the vegetable market right across the street means it is very noisy and crowded in the mornings. You can hear the vendors calling out their prices from our front door. We specialize in different types of laces and borders for clothing. It is a very specific thing to sell, but many local tailors and women who sew at home come to us. The shop is quite small and the walls are covered in rolls of different colors and patterns. We spend a lot of time measuring out lengths of lace and wrapping them onto cardboard pieces. It is a bit of a slow process but we don't mind. The apartment building is one of the older ones in the area, so the walls have a few cracks and the paint is peeling in places. We have been in this same spot for almost ten years now. We don't do any online selling or social media. If people want something, they just walk in and ask. We have a small radio that we keep on for some background music while we work. It’s a quiet existence for the most part, despite the market noise outside. We just keep our heads down and serve the people who come through the door one by one.
