Gopal Silk Industries

We have been in Surat for a while now. Our place is over at Madhav Park, right in the Janta Nagar area. It’s usually pretty busy around here near the Ring Road. We spend our days dealing with silk, which is what we’ve always done. The machines run all day and the staff stays busy. We have seen this whole neighborhood change quite a bit around Inderpura. Working with fabric isn’t always easy but we are used to the rhythm of it by now. Most of our time is spent right here at the unit. There are many other businesses in this part of town, so it’s a lively spot. Sometimes it gets a bit noisy when the looms are going full speed, but that’s just how it is. We keep things simple and don’t go for anything fancy. Most of our day is just checking the quality of the thread and making sure the orders are packed up. It is a regular workplace where we show up and do what needs doing. Local people know where we are because we’ve been here for years. It takes a lot of manual work and keeping a close eye on the stock levels. We don't have a big corporate office or anything. It's just a space where the work gets done. If you happen to walk by No-14, you will probably see us busy with something. It’s a straightforward life for us and we just keep at it.
