You can find us at shop number 166 inside the Vankar Textile Market. Being in a big textile market like this means there is always a lot of lifting and moving boxes around. It is a noisy place with people shouting and carts moving through the narrow lanes. We mostly focus on our saree stock, making sure we have enough on the shelves to show people. The light inside the market isn't always the best, but we make do with what we have. We have been working out of this space for quite some time now. It's not a place for a quiet chat, as there is always something going on next door or in the hallway. We keep things pretty simple here. No big displays or bright lights, just the sarees and us. Sometimes the market gets so crowded it's hard to move, but that's just part of the daily life in Vankar. We start our day early to get ahead of the main rush that happens around noon. Most of our time is spent checking the quality of the new arrivals and making sure the bills are in order. It’s a lot of physical work, honestly, and my back usually hurts by the end of the day. We don’t try to be anything we aren’t. It is just a shop in a busy market where we try to keep things running as smoothly as we can manage. We enjoy the local food from the stalls outside when we get a chance to take a break.
