Viren Gems

We are over at 25/26 Rander. It is a quiet spot most of the time, though the street gets busy around lunchtime when people are out for food. Viren Gems has been here for a bit now. Inside, the shop is not very big, just enough room for the counters and a few chairs for people to sit down. We mostly keep our heads down and work on whatever stones come in that day. Sometimes the light coming through the window is just right for looking at the gems, and other times it’s too cloudy to see much without the lamps. The walls could probably use a new coat of paint, but they have stayed this way for years. People from around the neighborhood stop by, sometimes just to say hello or ask for directions because the Rander area can get confusing for visitors. We have some old wooden desks that have been with us since the start. It smells like paper and old velvet boxes in here. It isn't a fancy place with bright lights and loud music. It is just where we come every morning to handle the work. There is always a thermos of tea on the table and some ledgers piled up. We don't spend much time on the computer unless we really have to. Most of the stuff we do is by hand or with simple tools that have lasted a long time. It feels right being in this corner of the city.
