Maruti Plastic

Maruti Plastic is located in Krishnanagar Part-2. It’s a bit of a tricky spot to find if you aren't from this neighborhood, as we are tucked behind the Pecefick Hotel and right across from the Khodiyar Temple. We operate out of what used to be a part of Ramjibhai Hiravalas home in Un. It’s a very small-scale operation, nothing like those giant automated factories you see on the news. We started out years ago with just one old machine and a few bags of plastic granules. Now we have a bit more equipment, but it’s still very much a local family business where everyone chips in. We make things like small containers, lids, and some basic pipe fittings. The space is quite tight, so we have to be very careful about where we stack the finished bags so we can still walk through the room. Often, the kids from the neighborhood are playing cricket right outside our gate, which gives the place a very different feel than a normal industrial park. We don't have a sales team or an office. I usually handle all the phone calls and orders myself while my cousin looks after the production side. We know almost all our customers by their first names since they’ve been buying from us for such a long time. If someone needs a small custom order, we usually try to figure out a way to do it. It’s not a perfect system.
