Purplepatch

Purplepatch operates out of room 103 in the Ratnakala Apartment, which is over in the Pandol area. We are right near Bajarang Cinema on Ved Road. It’s a lively part of the city, and being in an apartment building means we are right in the middle of everything. We work on textiles and design, which is pretty common for this side of town, but we try to do things our own way. The space is a bit tight because we have rolls of fabric and various machines tucked into the corners. It’s more of a workshop than a formal office. We don’t have a receptionist or a fancy lobby; you just walk in and see us working. Most of our days are spent looking at patterns or talking to weavers about how to get a specific look. We aren't interested in corporate polish. We just like making things that look good and feel right. Sometimes the noise from the cinema street can be a distraction, but we’ve gotten used to it over time. The people who work here are like family, and we often eat lunch together while discussing the next project. We don't have a big mission statement on the wall. We just want to finish the current batch of work and make sure the quality is decent. It’s a bit messy and loud sometimes, but it’s where we feel most at home.
