Sonali Collection

Sonali Collection is located at number 4, right near the Vandana Cutp on CST Road in Bhagal. It’s a narrow shop, so we have to be smart about how we hang things up. We’ve got clothes and textiles mostly, stuffed into the racks until they can’t hold any more. The sidewalk outside is always crowded with people walking to the station or the market. We spend a lot of our time folding and refolding fabrics that customers have looked through. It’s a never-ending task, honestly. The light in the back of the shop is a bit dim, so we usually bring things to the front near the door so people can see the colors better. Bhagal is a loud area, so there is always the sound of horns and shouting from the street coming inside. We have a small desk where we keep the ledger and a pen that usually runs out of ink when we need it. We’ve been here for years, through the hot summers and the heavy rains. The roof leaked a little last monsoon, but we patched it up with some plastic sheets. It’s just a normal shop run by normal people. We don’t have any big titles or fancy uniforms. We just wear our regular clothes and talk to whoever comes in. Some days are slow and we just sit and watch the traffic go by on CST Road while we wait for the next visitor.
