Varun Sarees

Our shop is at 239 Shahpur Darwaja, right on Ring Road. It is an old part of the area, and the building has seen better days, but it is home to us. We have sarees everywhere you look. It is a small space, so we have to be smart about how we stack things up against the walls. Sometimes we have to move ten boxes just to get to one specific color or pattern. It is just part of the daily routine. We open up early because the morning traffic on Ring Road can be a real mess if we wait too late. Most of our neighbors have been here as long as we have. We talk over the walls or while standing out front during breaks. It is a real community. We do not use any fancy computers to keep track of stuff, mostly just a big notebook and our own memory. The floor is a bit uneven, but we have gotten used to it over the years. Every now and then, the rain makes things a bit tricky near the entrance, but we manage. We aren't trying to be the biggest place around, just a reliable one where people can come. Folks come in, they look around, and we help if they need it. It is a lot of manual work, carrying bundles and making sure everything stays clean. We like the rhythm of it. The evenings are usually the busiest when people are heading home and stop by the market area. We just take it as it comes.
