V R Sarees

Our shop, V R Sarees, is tucked away on the first floor of the New Bombay Market. The exact spot is D-2419. If you know the Umarbara area, you know how crowded it gets with all the textile trade going on. We have been here for a good amount of time, mostly dealing with different sarees that people want for weddings or just daily wear. Getting up to the first floor isn't too bad, but sometimes the stairs are a bit narrow when people are carrying big bundles of cloth. It is just the way the building is built. We try to keep a decent variety on hand so people have choices. It’s not a shiny showroom like you see in the big malls. It is more of a practical workspace where we show our stock to anyone who stops by. Some days are slow and we just sit and talk, but then it gets really hectic around the festival seasons. We handle all the folding and stacking ourselves. It’s hard work on the back, but it keeps the business going. People from all over come to this market because there is so much to see. We just do our part in the middle of it all. You might have to look twice to find the door since there are so many shops, but we are there. It is just a regular life for us here in Umarbara.
