Usha Auto Tyres

Usha Auto Tyres is located at 4 Udhna Kalewadi Bamroli Road. If you come by, you’ll smell the rubber before you even see the shop. We have stacks of tyres piled high, almost reaching the ceiling. It’s a small space, so it feels even more crowded than it is. We spend most of our time out on the pavement changing tyres or fixing punctures. The Bamroli Road is always full of trucks and cars, so there’s never a quiet moment. It gets incredibly hot working out there in the sun. We wear old hats and try to stay in the shade of the awning when we can. My hands are always black from the soot and the rubber. It doesn’t wash off easily. We have a few old stools for people to sit on while they wait. We don’t have air conditioning or anything fancy. Just a few tools and a lot of elbow grease. We’ve been at this spot for years. Most of our customers are just people passing through who have a problem with their wheels. We don't try to sell them things they don't need. We just fix what's broken so they can get back on the road. It’s simple, honest work. At the end of the day, we roll the tyres inside and lock up. It is a long day but it is our life.
