Umanandan Sarees

Umanandan Sarees is located at B-159 in the Gopinath Complex. We are right by Katargam Darwaja, near Patel Park on the 60ft Road in Ananthapura, Katargam. It’s a well-known area for anyone who lives around here. We have a lot of different sarees piled up on our counters and shelves. The shop isn't very big, so it can feel a bit cramped when we have new stock coming in. We spend most of our time unfolding and folding fabrics for people to look at. It’s a lot of work on the arms, but we enjoy seeing the different colors and patterns. We aren't a big chain store or anything like that. It’s just a family-run type of place. We’ve been in this part of Katargam for a long time and know many of the regulars who walk by. Sometimes we just sit outside the shop when it’s slow and talk to the neighbors. The 60ft Road can get really busy, especially in the evenings, so it’s always a bit loud. We don't have a fancy display window or a team of models. We just show the sarees as they are. Sometimes the lighting in the complex isn't very good, but we do what we can. We try to keep things simple and just focus on the clothes and the people who come in to buy them. It’s a lot of hard work but we like it. There is always something to be done, whether it is tidying up or sorting new colors.
