We run Tulsi Saree out of apartment number 10 in the Akshardham Apartment building in Singanpore. It’s not your typical storefront on a main street. Being in an apartment means things are a bit more quiet and personal. People usually come to see us because they heard about us from a neighbor or a friend. We have turned one of the rooms into a display area where we keep all the sarees. It can get a bit crowded when a few people come in at the same time, but it’s a cozy sort of feeling. We spend a lot of time unfolding the fabrics to show the designs and then folding them all back up again. It takes a lot of patience to get the folds just right. Singanpore is a nice area and we like being based here rather than in a noisy market. We don't have big signs outside, so you have to know where you are going to find us. Usually, we are busy with something, whether it is checking new stock or talking to someone about a particular color they want. We don't have a big staff, just us family members handling everything. It feels more like a home than a shop sometimes. We just take things one day at a time and see who drops by. It is a simple life and we prefer it that way.
