Hardik Sarees

If you've ever been to the Surat Textile Market on Ring Road, you know how crowded it gets. Our shop, Hardik Sarees, is up on the first floor at Q-2258. It is a small space packed with fabrics and boxes. Most days, we are just sorting through the new arrivals or packing up stuff for people who have been coming to us for years. The market can be quite a maze, and the noise from the Ring Road never really stops. We start our day early, usually around the time the first trucks arrive. Being on the first floor helps a bit with the dust, but the heat is still something we have to deal with. We don't have fancy displays or anything like that. It's just shelves and shelves of sarees. People come in, they look at what we have, and we talk about the weather or how the market is doing. Sometimes it is very slow, and other times we can barely find a place to sit. It’s just how it is in Surat. We have been in this same spot for a long time, and the neighbors are all like family now. We share tea and complain about the traffic outside. It's just a regular business where we do our work and try to get things right. There is no big mystery to it, just sarees and hard work.
