Sudev Fashion is located at No. 6046 in the Ambaji Market. If you have not been to Ring Road lately, it is just as busy as ever. The market is like a giant maze once you get inside. Our shop is just one of many in the row, but we have been in this spot for a while. It is a small space, mostly taken up by shelves that go all the way to the ceiling. We have to use a wooden ladder to reach the stock at the top. Most days, we are busy unfolding and folding fabric for people who stop by to look. The light in the market corridors is not the best, so we have some extra tubes inside the shop so people can actually see the colors of the cloth. It is a lot of standing on your feet all day. We usually have a small radio playing somewhere in the background to keep things lively. Ambaji Market is a place where you hear a lot of different languages because people come from all over the country to buy. We try to keep things simple here. There is a small desk where we keep the ledger and the phone. When it is not too busy, we sit on the stools and watch the crowds go by in the hallway. The tea here is actually pretty good if you know which stall to call. By the time we pull the shutter down, the market feels a bit quieter.
