Our place is at Princess Plaza, specifically unit number 9 on the ground floor. We are right there at Sardar Chowk in the Mini Bazar area of Varachha Road. If you know Surat, you know how busy Varachha gets. Mini Bazar is usually packed with people and traffic, especially in the afternoons. Being on the ground floor makes it easy for people to drop in without having to deal with stairs or elevators. We deal with diamond imports and exports, so there is always some paperwork to sort out. The office is functional and maybe a little cramped when we have a lot of stock, but we make it work. We have been here for a while and have seen the shops around us change hands many times. The noise from the road is constant, but you get used to it after a week or two. We don't have any flashy decorations. Just some sturdy desks, a safe, and the equipment we need for the diamonds. Our day usually involves a lot of checking and re-checking. It’s a lot of responsibility, so we try to stay focused. We drink a lot of tea to stay sharp. It is just a normal office in a very busy part of town. We like the energy of the market, even if it gets a bit overwhelming on Mondays.
