Our office is way up on the sixth floor of Japan Market. Office number 679 is where we spend most of our daylight hours. Being that high up on Ring Road means we get a bit of a view, though it’s mostly just more rooftops and billboards. The elevator in this building has its own personality, sometimes it works fast and other times you’re better off taking the stairs if you’re in a real rush. Sk Sarees Agencies is where we handle all the agency work for the different saree lines we carry. It’s mostly paperwork and phone calls, mixed with showing samples to people who make the climb up here. The hallways are usually stacked with parcels waiting to be moved down. It’s not a quiet place, there is always someone shouting down the hall or a cart rattling by. We have a small team here. We mostly just focus on getting the sarees out to the shops that need them. The Japan Market area is always crowded, so getting here in the morning takes some patience with the traffic. We’ve got samples draped over chairs and stacks of catalogs on the tables. It’s a working office, so things aren’t always perfectly neat. We drink a lot of tea while going through the order sheets. If you come by, you’ll probably find us mid-count or on the phone with a supplier. It’s just how the saree trade goes in this part of the city.
