Sitatex Sarees

We are located on the first floor of the Sagar Shopping Centre, right at number 105. Being on the Ring Road means it's always noisy outside with the horns and the people. Sitatex Sarees is where we spend the bulk of our day, surrounded by piles of cloth. The first floor is okay because you don’t have to climb too many stairs if the lift is acting up, which happens more often than it should. Our shop isn't very big, but we pack a lot into it. We spend a lot of time checking the edges of the sarees and making sure the patterns look right. There's a certain way the morning light hits the front of the shopping centre before it gets too hot. Usually, we have a radio playing somewhere in the background to pass the time. It’s a lot of repetitive work, checking invoices and matching them with the bundles on the floor. Customers come in and out, some stay to talk about the weather or the market prices, others are in a hurry. We just try to keep things moving. Sometimes the tea arrives cold, which is a small annoyance in a long day. We don’t have any fancy displays, just the goods we sell and a place to sit. It’s a simple setup for a simple business, really. We just open up, do the work, and close when it's dark.
