Silika Sarees

We are located right in the middle of Chauta Bazar in Surat. If you know the area, you know how busy it gets, especially in the evenings. Silika Sarees is a family-run kind of place. We have been here for years, watching the street change. The shop isn't very big, so we have to use every inch of space to keep the sarees. We have stacks of them in every color you can think of. It’s a bit of a maze inside sometimes. We don't have a big corporate office or a board of directors. It’s just me, my brother, and a couple of helpers. We spend our days showing different pieces to people and folding them back up carefully. It's a lot of manual work, and our backs often ache by the time we close the shutters at night. The noise from the bazar is constant, with vendors calling out and scooters honking. We like the energy of Chauta Bazar though. It feels like the heart of the city. We don't do much advertising. People usually find us because they were walking by or their mother told them to come here. We just try to keep a good variety of stock and stay honest with everyone. It’s a simple life running a shop in a place like this. We just take it one customer at a time. After the rush, we sit and count the cash for the day. Sometimes the neighbors come by for a chat before we go home.
