Shree Sai Saree Centre

Our shop, Shree Sai Saree Centre, is located right near Delhi Gate at the Char Rasta. It’s at Number 1, right by Sahara Darwaja. This is a very crowded part of the city. There’s always someone passing by or a rickshaw honking outside. The shop has been here at this junction for quite a while now. We have sarees piled up on the counters and tucked into the shelves. It’s not a very big space, so we have to use every inch we have. Sometimes customers have to squeeze past each other to see things. We spend a lot of time unfolding and refolding the cloth for people. It’s a lot of work to keep it all looking neat. The light from the street comes in through the front door because we keep it open. We don't really have a back room, so everything happens right there in the front. Sahara Darwaja is a big landmark, so people find us easily enough. We open up early and the day goes by fast with all the noise outside. We don't do any big marketing or ads. People just see the sarees in the window and come in to look. It’s just me and a couple of others working here. We just try to keep things moving and get through the day. It’s a simple business in a very busy spot, but we like it here.
