Shree Mahalaxmi Sarees & Dress

Our place is inside the Mangalmurti Apartment building over in Katargam. Specifically, we are at number 5 on the second cross in Aizad Nagar. It is a bit different because we are in an apartment and not a storefront on the main road. This means people have to know where they are going to find us. We have several rooms filled with sarees and dress materials. It is a lot of folding and unfolding all day long when people come to look at the patterns. The neighborhood is mostly families so it feels very safe and familiar to us. We have been here for years and know all the neighbors in the building. Sometimes we offer people water or tea if they have traveled a long way to see our collection. We don't use fancy lighting like the big showrooms on the main road. We just use the regular tube lights and the sunlight from the windows. The floors are tiled and we keep them clean since people often take their shoes off at the door. It is a quiet way to run a business but it works for us. We handle everything ourselves from picking the stock to showing it to customers. If the doorbell rings, it is usually someone looking for a new outfit for a wedding or a festival. It keeps us on our toes and we enjoy the daily interactions with our regular clients who live nearby in Katargam.
