Shree Kedareshwar Grinding Works

We’ve been at A 2 in Rang Nagar Society for a long time now. Most days are loud because of the grinding machines. You get used to the vibration after a while. Sometimes the traffic outside makes it hard for people to pull in, but Manik Baug is a familiar spot for everyone around here. It isn't a fancy setup. We have the basic tools and the workshop floor is always covered in a bit of dust from the metal. That’s just how grinding goes. People bring in parts that need sharpening or smoothing down. We look at what needs doing and just get to it. It’s mostly regular customers from the neighborhood. Some mornings are slow, especially when it rains and the road gets messy. We usually open up early and stay until the light goes. There’s a tea stall nearby where we go when the machines are cooling off. It’s a simple life here in the unit. No big offices or desks, just the workbench and the grinding stones. My hands are usually stained by noon. We don’t spend much time on the computer. Most things are written down in a ledger. That’s how we've always handled the work at Shree Kedareshwar Grinding Works. It works for us and the people who come by. We know the machines better than anything else. Sometimes the electricity flickers when the neighbors turn on their heavy gear, but we just wait it out. There’s always a bit of grease on the door handles and the floor stays grey. It’s just a part of the trade.
