Our place is at Plot Number 99 in the Krishna Industrial Society. It is right on Ved Road, which is always full of trucks and people moving things around. Being in an industrial society means it is never really quiet. You hear the sounds of machines and workshops from the neighboring plots all day long. We have a good amount of space here, but it fills up quickly with rolls of fabric and finished pieces waiting to be sent out. The floor is concrete and we try to sweep it every morning, though the dust always comes back by noon. It gets quite hot in the summer because of the metal roofs nearby, so we drink a lot of water and keep the big doors open for a breeze. We aren't a showroom where you come to sit on fancy sofas. It’s more of a working spot where we get things done. We usually start early in the morning before the traffic on Ved Road gets too bad. By the time the afternoon tea person comes around, we have usually finished most of the heavy lifting for the day. It’s a practical setup for the kind of work we do. There is a lot of back and forth with the transporters who come to pick up the orders. We just focus on the piles of work in front of us and try to stay on top of the schedule.
