Shakun Sarees

Shakun Sarees is located in the Arihant Complex on Jawahar Road. We have units 112 through 114 on the first floor. It is a solid old building and we have been here for a good while. Jawahar Road is always busy with traffic and people walking to the nearby markets. Inside the complex, it is a bit cooler and quieter than out on the street. We have rows and rows of sarees tucked into wooden cubbies. Every morning starts with us dusting the shelves and making sure everything looks decent. We have a small bench near the entrance where people can sit for a minute if they are tired from walking. The lighting in the shop is a bit yellow which gives everything a warm feel. We spend our afternoons sorting through new arrivals and checking for any loose threads. It is a repetitive job but there is something nice about the rhythm of it. We know most of the other shopkeepers in Arihant Complex and we often look out for each other. Sometimes we grab a samosa from the vendor downstairs during the mid-day break. Our space is cramped but it works for what we need. We don't go in for big advertisements or loud music. We just keep our heads down and focus on the sarees. It is a simple life and we are happy with how things are going on Jawahar Road.
