Satnam Sarees

Satnam Sarees is tucked away in the U-6 Chemical Section of the Old Bombay Market in Umarvada. If you’ve ever been to the market, you know how crowded it gets. It’s a maze of shops and people carrying bundles of cloth. Our spot in the Chemical Section is where we spend most of our time. It’s not the newest building in the world, but it works for what we do. Umarvada is always buzzing, and the Old Bombay Market is really the heart of it. We see all kinds of people coming through here every day. Some are looking for something specific, and others are just passing through to get to another part of the market. The air inside the market is always thick with the smell of new fabric and maybe a bit of dust. We don’t have much room for a desk or anything, so we usually just stand around and talk to whoever comes by. It gets quite hot in the afternoons, especially in the summer, but we have a couple of fans that keep things moving a little. Satnam Sarees isn't some big corporate office. It’s a small shop in a very old part of town. We know the neighbors, and we know the tea seller who comes around twice a day. It is a simple life here in the U-6 section. We just do the work and try to stay organized in the middle of all the chaos.
