We are located in Rughnathpura at the old Rice Mill Compound. Our room is number 06 on the ground floor of house number 6/2661. This part of Surat has a lot of history and the compound itself shows its age, but it is a good spot for hallmarking. We spend our days verifying gold and making sure the marks are correct. It is a very technical job that requires us to be careful. The ground floor is convenient because gold can be heavy to carry up and down. We have our machines set up in a way that makes sense for the workflow. It isn't a place where you'd come for a fancy meeting. It is more of a workshop feel. There is dust from the street sometimes and the walls could probably use a fresh coat of paint, but the equipment is what matters. We have a small group of workers who have been doing this for years. We know the value of what we are handling, so we take the work seriously even if the office looks plain. People from the neighborhood bring their items to us, and we just get on with it. There is a certain satisfaction in doing a job that requires such precision. We just keep our heads down and do the hallmarking one piece at a time.
